Crew Leader for 2017
Works directly with Farm Managers on daily/weekly duty list. 40 – 50 hours, 5-6 days per week.
This position requires at least a year of prior experience working on a vegetable farm.
We are looking for someone with excellent leadership and organizational skills who can help direct a crew of 4-6 people. In this position, you will be required to focus on maintaining high standards of quality and consistency, along with striving towards maximum efficiency.
Duties include – Greenhouse seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, some washing and packing, caring for our laying hens, etc. and possibly some tractor work for the right person.
You must have previous farm experience; have a very strong work ethic and have a very strong interest in sustainable vegetable farming. You must complete tasks in an organized and timely manner given time and weather constraints. You must also lead the field crew by example and word in a friendly competitive manner, therefore excellent communication skills are an absolute must.
Field Crew for 2017
Seasonal position, approximately May/June – September/October This person will work in practically every aspect of the farm. 40 – 45 hours, 5 days per week. Individuals with some farming background is beneficial. Must possess a very strong work ethic, be responsible and punctual. Farm work is a hands on, physical job. Individuals must be able to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly, be able to kneel, bend or squat for various planting, harvesting, feeding work. Individuals must have great verbal communication skills, are able to listen and follow directions and work in a timely manner. Many tasks on the farm are done by 2 or more people, a good sense of humor and ability to work well with others is required.
Duties will change throughout the season and will include but are not limited to greenhouse seeding, transplanting, hand weeding, harvesting, washing of produce, animal care, mowing, fence moving, field clean up, customer service, selling at our farmer’s market and participating in our, tours and other events.
Hourly wage depending upon experience. Please inquire.
